The Brass Shine Polishing Cloth leaves an invisible anti-tarnish coating that will prevent retarnishing of the item. Brass is a metal that has pores. What this means is that an item that is made of brass weathers or tarnishes not only from the outside inwards, but also can tarnish inside (sub-surface) and spread outwards. Brass in made of copper and other metals (this is called an alloy) and our cleaning cloths only clean and remove tarnish on the outer layers of the brass. If you have a consumer who cleans and there are still water spots or dark areas and a few treatments of our cloth do not successfully remove the tarnish, then a specialist needs to look at the piece. A typical example of this is a one of a kind item that has been sitting in an attic or outside for an extended period (years?) and our cloth cleans the brass, but only parts of it.
